rdesktop 1.4.1-4 added to fink project

After a while, my package rdesktop seems to be added to fink project. Thanks to crish01 and akh for your help.

It is my second package in fink. No notice from vtun... maybe no one is using it.

linux-wlan-ng 0.2.1pre26 ready for upload?

I'm wating for commets about the newer version of linux-wlan-ng. I have problems with powerpc modules, so I have removed it from the prebuilt kernel modules process.

Now the alioth project is ready and I am using the arch repository directly.

Now I have pwc-modules-2.6.12 stuff with the newer version. The pwc package has some bugs and I am waiting for my sponsor upload's.

I put archzoom on my web too.

linux-wlan-ng project on alioth starts

Now we have created the arch repository on arch.debian.org with the Enrico version until I have access to this machine and I will commit the latest version.

Now linux-kernel-2.6.12 is out I need to check this version with the package, make new modules, and take a look over the new incoming upstream version. A lot of work waiting for me.

Playing with linux-kernel-2.6-2.6.12

This is my first post on English, so I will have a lot of mistakes, but
after a long time thinking about it I notice that I need to improve my
English now that I am trying to get involved into Free Software, Debian
packaging. And you all know, the modern Latin is English.

So, I will start using English for my blog just like a way to get a better
English knowledge, and someday being able to speak it properly.

Well the post is about the new linux-kernel-2.6 package and my two kernel
driver packages. I am now trying to build from the sources the 2.6.12 stuff
and trying to see the differences with 2.6.11 . I have to be nice with
the pwc driver that is already back into the kernel source.

My first thought were to use dpkg-divert in order to not to conflict with
pwc.ko. But on IRC the kernel guys told me that I must use /misc directory
and not to play with kernel files. The version I already have is implemented
with dpkg-divert but I is just a devel version, and I did not test it
already.

I have to learn how /etc/modules.conf works with packages on /misc an
/lib/modules/$(KVER) before I can do anything.

New pwc version 10.0.7a-1

commit 88c1834633341bbb94e315433067496338bff4ad

[PATCH] remove non-cleanroom pwc driver compression

The original pwc author raised some questions about the reverse
engineering of the decompressor algorithms used in the pwc driver.
Having done some detailed investigation it appears those concerns that
clean room policy was not followed are reasonable. I've also had a
friendly discussion with Philips to ask their view on this.

This removes the problem items of code which reduces the pwc
functionality in the kernel a little but leaves all the framework for
setup that will be needed for decompressors in user space (where they
eventually belong). This change set is designed to be the minimal risk
change set given that 2.6.12 is hopefully close to hand, with a view to
merging the much updated pwc code in 2.6.13 series kernels.

Someone else can then redo the decompressors properly (clean room) in
user space.

Note that while its easy to say that it should have been caught earlier,
but the violation was really only obvious to someone who had access to
both the proprietary source and the 'GPL' source.
